Getting Here

In general, Google Maps works well in Zurich, so you can always use that to find what you need.

Getting into Zurich

Train - There are a few big stations in Zurich, but the main one is called Zurich HB (or Zurich main station).  Some of the others are called Alstetten, Oerlikon, Hardbrucke.  Google Maps is probably the best way to find your accommodations from any of these stations.  Zurich is quite small, so almost everything is within 30/40 minutes public transit from Zurich HB.  You can buy bus/train tickets at all bus/train stop, just look for the ticket machine.  Note that you cannot pay on the bus/train, you must purchase the ticket before boarding.  Choose a zone 110 ticket, which costs 3.10 CHF.

Plane - There is only one airport in Zurich, called the Zurich Flughafen in German.  From there, there are many train options that will take you to the city in 10-15 minutes.  For example, the S2 train takes 10 minutes to get to Zurich HB (but again check Google for the best connections).  You have to buy a train ticket from the machines at the airport near the train platforms.  The airport is in zone 121, and all of the city of Zurich is in zone 110.  Tickets are around 3.40 CHF.

Workshop venue

The workshop will take place at the Hönggerberg campus of ETH Zurich (NOT the Zentrum campus), in the HIT building.

Talks will be held in room HIT E 51, located in the main atrium of the building.

Coffee breaks and the workshop apéro will take place in the open space in front of the same room.

Getting to ETH

The easiest way to find ETH Hönggerberg is to search for "ETH Hönggerberg" in Google maps, and follow the public transit directions.  You can buy bus/train tickets at all bus/train stop, just look for the ticket machine.  Note that you cannot pay on the bus/train, you must purchase the ticket before boarding.  Choose a zone 110 ticket, which costs 3.10 CHF.

A convenient way to reach the Hönggerberg campus from the city center is by using the ETH E-Link shuttle. This service is free of charge for ETH guests, has fewer stops than public transportation. You can find the schedule here, or simply look for bus “E” on Google Maps.

Other common options have the 80, 69, or 37 bus as the final leg of the trip to get to ETH Hönggerberg, and the stop is called "ETH Hönggerberg."  Then, you can follow the map below to get to the HIT building.
